EACH VACATION BEGINS LIKE THIS...........
By arriving to the beautiful country of Belize, located in Central America. Where you will enjoy seven days and six nights, on the beautiful island of Ambergris Caye. Once you arrive at the Belize International Airport, you will then board a 15 passenger commuter aircraft (a 20 minute flight to San Pedro), located on the island of Ambergris Caye.
Here you will be greeted by Black Orchid personnel. You will take a short journey through this small seaside town (via taxi) to the Black Orchid Office, where you will complete all required check in paperwork. Here you can enjoy a complimentary cold beverage (of your choice) after a long day of travel, rent a golf cart, a cell phone, and sign up for any tours that you would like to take during your stay. We will then assist you in getting either back in your standby taxi, or your newly acquired golf cart,. We will provide you with a set of keys and a map, showing you how to get to your resort destination as your adventure begins. In some instances, if your travels take you up the coast, we will assist you in getting to the island coastal ferry, which will take you to your resort destination. |

HOW TO TRAVEL RESPONSIBLY
While you are in Belize, we hope you'll keep in mind the following guidelines to responsible travel:
1. Stay on the Trail: Don't trample delicate vegetation.
2. Plants: Do not remove, disturb or destroy them.
3. Marine: Do not stand on, touch, or kick sand on coral reef systems. Sand raised by fins can suffocate coral or lower its disease resistance.
4. Wildlife: Maintain a minimum distance of 30 feet from wildlife; stay on the periphery or animal assemblages; never surround an animal or a group of animals or come between parents and their young; never follow or harass birds or animals for the sake of a photograph; keep decibel levels low; listen to the sound of the jungle; be unobtrusive when viewing wildlife.
5. Sustainability: Local guides, landowners and conservations representatives should tell you their plans to ensure he sustainable use of wildlife habitats as you participate together in implementing these plans.
6. Waste Disposal: All trash must be contained and carried back to a designated landfill; no littering is tolerated.
7. Wilderness: Trips to wilderness area must be led by experienced, well-trained, responsible naturalists and guides.
8. Souvenirs: Do not buy any sea turtle products, or any other products from wild animals, even if they are incorporated in artwork.
9. Participate: Become a positive contributor to Belize's experiment in developing a new, responsible tourism ethic. You help such a country's conservation projects succeedby joining, by financing, by visiting, or by volunteering to participate in them.
